History : Moonstone has long believed to have a connection with the moon (hence the name). Moonstone was very popular with the Romans, who thought it was formed out of moonlight, also used in Roman jewelry since 100 AD. The moonstone in India is still quite a sacred stone today, it is only permitted to be displayed on a yellow cloth.
