Birthstones by Month

Jewellery has been used to present gemstone representations of birthstones for hundreds of years. Jewellers throughout time have created beautiful pieces to display and cradle the stone which is said to represent each birth month. Birthday gemstones are said to have enhanced properties when worn by someone of each stones corresponding month.

As there have been slightly different versions of birth stone lists depending on whether one is referring to traditional, mystical, ayurvedic or zodiac birthstones, in 1912 the Jewellers Association of America agreed upon a birthstone list of gemstones which is now known as the Modern birthstone chart.
